Automatic Camera Selection and Fusion for Outdoor Surveillance under Changing Weather Conditions

چکیده

In this paper, an outdoor multi-camera video surveillance system operating under changing weather conditions is presented. A new confidence measure, Appearance Ratio (AR), is defined to automatically evaluate the sensors’ performance for each time instant. By comparing their ARs, the system can select the most appropriate cameras to perform specific tasks. When redundant measurements are available for a target, the AR measures are used to perform a weighted fusion of them. Experimental results are presented on outdoor scenes under different weather conditions.
